Submissions

ACSOS 2025 invites submissions on theoretical aspects, modeling, design, implementation, evaluation, verification and practical applications of autonomic, self-adaptive, self-organizing, and multi-agent systems, algorithms and techniques. For further details, please see the Main Track Call for Papers.

Posters or demonstrations can be submitted for evaluation in the form of an extended abstract. Submissions are limited to 2 pages, including figures, tables, and references and are required to comply with the standard IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide. All submissions must present only original and unpublished work that is not currently under review at any other venue.

Demonstrations must include a link to a video of up to 5 minutes hosted in a permanent location in the abstract for the paper. The video must show the existing tool or research prototype in action. Moreover, demonstrations must include a link to a permanent location (preferably GitHub) where the source code of the produced software is available when it is possible.

Papers are submitted electronically in PDF format through the ACSOS 2025 conference management system via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=acsos2025 selecting the ACSOS 25 Poster and Demo Track.

We invite all papers accepted to the main conference to present their work additionally as posters without uploading the extended abstract. However, please note that these papers will not be considered for the Best Poster/Demo award.

Selection Process

The ACSOS 2025 Demo and Poster Track will follow a single-blind review - authors should include their names and affiliations in the paper while submitting, the reviewer identities will be concealed from authors. All extended abstracts will be reviewed by the members of the Poster and Demo Committee and evaluated based on novelty, impact, technical soundness, relevance to the conference, and presentation. In case an extended abstract presents a software tool (demonstration), the online availability of such a tool and its documentation will also be considered in the final decision by the reviewers.

Accepted Posters and Demos

If selected, authors shall prepare a final camera-ready version of the extended abstract, taking into account the reviewers’ feedback. The extended abstract of the selected posters and demos will be included in the ACSOS Companion Proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press and made available as a part of IEEE Digital Library.

At least one author of each accepted submission is required to register at the conference and present their work in the interactive poster and demo session, as well as stay with the poster and/or demo to discuss the work with conference attendees for the duration of the scheduled session.

Demo Guidelines

At the conference authors will present their live demos on their laptops and are invited to bring any other piece of equipment they may need. Software simulations or video recordings are accepted as an alternative if a real-time demo is not possible. Additionally, authors of the accepted demonstration submissions must also produce a poster summarising their system and demo, following the poster guidelines.

Poster Guidelines

Authors shall prepare their poster for presentation in the reserved session, taking into consideration that all posters should include the following information:

  • The purpose and goals of the work.
  • Any background and motivation needed to understand the work.
  • Any critical hypotheses and assumptions that underlie the work.
  • A clear summary of the contribution and/or results, in sufficient detail for a (re)viewer to understand the work and its relevance. If the work is at an initial stage, it is especially important to state clearly the anticipated contributions and any early results towards them.
  • The relationship to other related efforts, where appropriate. Authors of accepted posters may be asked to point out relationships to work represented by other accepted posters. Where to find additional information. This should include but is not restricted to: a website where viewers can go to find additional information about the work; how to contact the authors, including email addresses; for any papers, books, or other materials that provide additional information.

When preparing their posters, authors are required to capture the viewer’s attention effectively by presenting in a clear and concise way the core concepts and the context of their work. Therefore, visual representations are typically the main medium of communication in a successful poster session. Few attendees will get interested in posters that are not visually appealing to then make further enquiries to their authors. If screenshots are used, please ensure that they are readable. The recommended size for the poster is A0, and all poster authors are required to print and bring their posters to the conference.

Best Poster and Demo Award

We will award the best poster/demonstration. In particular, this process will be divided into two parts: one based on the quality of the reviewed abstract, with a ranking determined by the Poster and Demo Committee, and another decided on-site through participant voting during the Poster and Demo session. The winner will be determined by combining these two rankings.

Please note: Only posters/demos that submit an extended abstract will be considered for the Best Poster and Demo Award.
